Customer Service

Absolutely love Sam's Club cakes. Great quality cake at an amazing price. The cake stays moist for several days, even unrefrigerated. Just keep in a cool spot in your kitchen. My folks love icing. Sam's Club always delivers with just the right amount of icing😊 You will not be disappointed. My only negative is I wished there were a few more color choices with the custom cakes.

Satisfied Cake Lover

The cake itself was beautiful and delicious! Here is the problem!!! There is not enough space to put exactly what I wanted on the cake and you can't order in store. I wanted a SMALL emblem of the Air Force on the cake and a larger Congratulations on your Retirement lettering. The emblem took up most of the space on the cake! Please, Please increase the amount of characters you can put when giving directions on what we want on the cake.

Amazing cake, but.......

This is a difficult item to review because it was such a 'mixed bag.' The cake itself was visually beautiful and the service I received was stellar. Unfortunately, the taste of the cake was very artificial and quite nasty. I knew the cake was going to disappoint my spoiled family who are accustomed to cakes made from scratch using clean ingredients. The service was 5 star, the flavor and texture a zero.

5 star service, 0 star cake flavor, texture

This cake was not decorated per the instructions. It was supposed to have dots around the border and had shells. The writing was so bad I could've done a better job myself. We also asked for some exclamation points and they weren't there. This cake seemed like a rush job even though we ordered it days in advance. We have purchased beautiful cakes from Sam's in the past but this was a total let down. As with most cake purchases, it was for a special event - a retirement. Very disappointed to present this cake to the man who retired.

Not prepared as ordered

This cake was not at all what I expected from Sam’s. I’ve ordered several cakes in the past and have always been satisfied, but this one was disappointing by comparison. I was unhappy with the appearance, particularly the border—it looked rushed and poorly assembled.

Not Up to Sam’s Usual Standards

Our Sam’s Club went to online ordering for cakes. Design choices are very limited but ordered a cake and chose a design on their website that was an option. When the cake was picked up, the design wasn’t even close to the design that we chose. After speaking to an employee in the bakery, her response was we can scrape the frosting off and redo it. We didn't choose to do that because if they couldn’t decorate it correctly the first time, we couldn’t imagine what the cake would look like after having the frosting scraped off.

We were celebrating two birthdays that day and taking this cake to the party was absolutely embarrassing. Since Sam’s Club has gone to this online ordering, we will now have to get our cakes elsewhere. So sad as we have been using them for years.

What you order isn’t what you get

So first I would love to start off by saying I had called the store to see if there was any other color options and they told me to visit the store we can add more options in person. Okay so I show up and they look at me like I’m stupid and tell me the only options I have are online. Fine. I choose my options online and I choose one of the two color schemes (not my favorite but it will do) I go to pickup my cake day of my daughters birthday party and the cake is completely white not a single drop off color on the whole entire cake. Just white. At this point there is not enough time to re order or complain because my daughter’s birthday party was literally an hour away from starting. Disappointed in the rude customer service they displayed toward me and mega disappointed that even after I did what they said and ordered online my cake was messed up somehow and no one seemed to give a crap. Will not be using this bakery again.

Nightmare

I have had many cakes from Sans Club over the years. I am very unhappy with the computer options and ordering of the cake. Also there was a huge bubble under the frosting (not the cake) and we didn't notice it until we were home. We tried to fix it but it was quite the eye sore.
Please go back to the way it use to be. When you could call in the order and talk to a person.

80th birthday cake

The cake was poorly decorated with uneven lettering, a misshaped cake and it appeared that the person that decorated it either rushed through the job, or no one was looking over finished work. I was embarrassed to put this cake out at our daughter's adoption celebration and honestly felt Sam's should bave been embarrassed to allow something so poorly done to leave. The bakery manager was too busy to speak to me, but the store manager did at least refund my money. When I asked for them to redo another cake, I was told it would be an hour, which I thought was another example of unsatisfactory customer service. I can't imagine that I will ever order another cake from Sam's bakery again, or if i do, it will be a long time. This experience has left me very disappointed.

Disappointed bakery customer.

Because of the new requirements, you can no longer order a cake at the counter. You must order it online. For two days I tried to order my cake and it would not go through so I went in store and a very nice woman helped me. We did everything exactly how I wanted the writing on the cake however when I picked up the cake two days later everything was wrong, the color of the writing and the message on the cake totally wrong. Unfortunately that same nice woman was not there. There was nobody behind the counter to even try to help me. The one person that was there barely spoke any English for me to even try to get my cake fixed. I have always loved ordering my cakes at Sam’s Club, but now I am going to be forced to look elsewhere. I am so disappointed. They need to go back to the old way where you can order in person and pay for your cake right then and there. I believe that was the problem why they now do everything online so payment is upfront, but there’s no reason that you can’t pay upfront in store when ordering your cake. That’s how it should be!!!

Very Disappointed
