Instructions

Discover the Beauty of Ornamental Allium

Ornamental allium belongs to a diverse genus of over 400 species, including familiar herbs like onion, leek, garlic, chive, and shallot. Despite their culinary relatives, ornamental allium blooms bring striking drama to gardens with their spherical clusters of flowers in colors ranging from white and yellow to pink and purple. While only a few varieties emit an onion-like scent when bruised, their captivating appearance makes them a popular choice for spring gardens.

Planting Tips for Optimal Growth

To ensure healthy growth, plant allium bulbs in the fall before the first frost hardens the soil. Dig a hole to the required depth, place the bulb pointed side up, cover with soil, and water thoroughly. Mulch is recommended in extreme climates. For container planting, bury the bulb three times as deep as its width. In colder zones (6 and below), protect containers by placing them near a house foundation or structure. In zones 3-5, store containers in an unheated garage or shed for winter protection.

Care and Maintenance for Long-Lasting Blooms

After blooming, leave the bulbs in place to allow plants to clump or reseed naturally. Divide bulbs only when planting spaces or containers become overcrowded. Propagate in the fall by division after chilling bulbs for four weeks in a moist medium. Ornamental allium thrives in sunny locations with well-draining soil, as bulbs are prone to rot in wet areas. Dig, divide, and replant bulbs every few years to maintain vibrant flower production.

Not even one, people, not even one. If you would like to be refunded, hopefully you just dug one hole and threw them all in because they expect you to dig them up and return them. Next time I think I would like a lush flower garden, I think I will just bury some money. Same difference. It’s the same amount of work, the same amount of money lost, and zero to show for it.

Move along, nothing to see here

Not one of these came up!!! Waste of money!

Never arrived! Been waiting for over a month, I believe.

Can't plant if they don't arrive.
