Romaine Hearts, 6 ct.

Quality and Sustainability

Our romaine lettuce is sustainably grown, fat-free, and low in calories. This package comes with enough romaine lettuce to feed a crowd or to make salads every night of the week. As these romaine hearts are packed at the field, we recommend rinsing before use.

Salad Preparation Ideas

Wondering how to use romaine lettuce? To make a fresh, crispy salad, chop the romaine by slicing roughly. Top with any of your favorite salad ingredients—whether sliced peppers, cucumbers, grape tomatoes, or carrots. Drizzle your favorite dressing over your romaine salad and dig in! Romaine is usually the lettuce of choice in classic Caesar salads, due to its firmness and crunch. It's also particularly great at holding on tight to the Caesar salad dressing.

Caesar Salad Recipe

To make a tasty Caesar salad, chop or rip apart your romaine lettuce. How large you want the pieces to be is up to you. Toss into a bowl, and top with shredded parmesan cheese, garlic croutons, black pepper, and Caesar dressing. If you want to add a little protein, top your Caesar salad with sliced hard-boiled eggs or crumbled bacon.

Other Uses of Romaine Lettuce

Break romaine into large chunks for sandwiches, too. If you'd like to slice around the harder rib section of the leaf, it will lay flatter on the sandwich. Try on burgers and veggie burgers, too! However you like to eat your romaine, make it your own and serve as a healthy side to any meal.

Nutritional Value and Allergen Information

One serving of romaine lettuce gives you 150% of the recommended daily value of Vitamin A and 35% of Vitamin C, has 0 grams of fat and 15 calories. Because it's a fresh leafy vegetable fresh from the field, this item is gluten-free, peanut-free, tree nut-free, milk-free, egg-free, shellfish-free, soy-free, and wheat-free.

I find romaine to be a very good value. They are fresh but make sure you check the dates. Store wrapped in aluminum foil, and they will last for several weeks in the fridge.

Fresh-good value

We love a good Caesar Salad with Chicken in our house, so for a quick meal I grab a bag of these romaine hearts, a rotisserie chicken, and a bag of BelGioioso Shaved Cheese. I wish Sam's would carry the big bottles of Cardini's dressing again to make it even easier, but I just keep that on hand.

Great for an easy Caesar Salad!

We're enjoying more salads since buying the 6-count Romaine lettuce at Sam's Club. It stays fresher longer than any other lettuce we've purchased in the past. Green salad, taco salad, Caesar salad…all enjoyed this past week. I'm so glad I made this purchase!

Fresh Romaine lettuce means more salads!

I always buy my lettuce at Sam's club. There's hardly any waste. It is truly heart, not all the dark green outside stuff.

Great lettuce

Normally, these last a bit longer. This time, they did not and i ended up throwing three away.

Normally good and long lasting; not this time.

Never trust Sams is my motto! They sell expired products because they are all about greed and care nothing about people. I brought to their attention and they did not care. For all they know i could have been sick or worse, but again they do not care. Very greedy organization with the worst customer service possible. But thats the world we live in today. Companies like sams are free to operate any way they please worrying not about if products are expired or if they overcharged their customers. They are motivated by complete greed and i would not trust anything they sell. I dont personally care how they operate but if they are going to send me surveys and i do not lie, i follow the teachings of Jesus, then i must write what i see in an honest manner. Ive had to throw away hundreds of dollars in expired groceries and I found other stores selling same items for less and when I made them aware they did not care.

Expired item again sold by sams the crooks

Contracted Cyclospora parasite from Taylor Farms lettuce. Not the first time we’ve gotten explosive diarrhea from Taylor Farms products. Will be avoiding Taylor Farms products and any restaurants that use Taylor Farms products.

Explosive Diarrhea Salad

I washed 3 large bunches of tge Romaine and sat them in a bowl while i pulled off each individual.leaf to be handwashed and stored in tupperwste style bowls. Usually tbe moisture from washing them keeps them very crisp tbis way. Sadly i threw the whole bag worth out because as tbey were sotging in my prewash bowl small mite l9oking bugs started crawling around the bottom of tve bowl. Even tbough i washed 3 and tried to convince myself they would be clean i decided to trash them all. Between the bugs and the virus rhat coukd go beyween tbe air holes on tbe bag i figured it woukd bother me too much mentally when i went to eat
it anyway. Nornally a huge fan of this Romaine.

Small mites within Romaine leaves

This product is always sold half rotten and turning brown , and will be the last time I buy it! The Lettuce was starting to age and rot in the middle, this wasn’t the first time either. Will never buy these from here again, a complete waste of money!

Rotten lettuce often, waste of money!

I ordered this romaine lettuce this morning 3/2/26 and it was delivered this afternoon by a Sams driver. Anybody can see it is old and out of date! Expired 2/23/26. Why is it being delivered today me when it’s over a week out of date?? Sams has to do better!!
