Ease Of Cleaning

If you're looking for a toy that actually gets the kids excited to head outdoors, the Step2 My First Picnic Basket is a total winner. We've had ours for a bit now, and it has become the centerpiece of our backyard playtime.

What I love most is how it bridges the age gap in our house. It's rare to find something that captures the attention of both a 3-year-old and an 8-year-old, but this set does exactly that.

Why It's a Hit:
Multi-Age Appeal: My toddler loves the tactile feel of the play food and the "click" of the basket lid, while my 8-year-old takes charge of the "menu" and organizes elaborate outdoor feasts.

Built to Last: In true Step2 fashion, the plastic is heavy-duty. It handles being dropped on the patio or left in the grass without a scratch.

Encourages Fresh Air: It's been the perfect catalyst for getting them away from screens. They'll spend an entire afternoon setting up their "campsite" and having a real-deal outside picnic.

Easy Cleanup: Everything tucks right back into the basket, making it easy for the kids to head back inside when the sun goes down.

A Backyard Staple

This set is wonderful my grandson has fun playing with it. He loves the jelly jar and the cookies the most. Very sturdy cart and great sized food for littles.

This set is wonderful my

My daughters love all things picnic and being outdoors. With winter around the corner this is the perfect toy for indoor picnics. The basket and accessories will be easy to clean which will be perfect for going indoors and outdoors. The size of the basket is great and the wheels are super nice for my toddlers to move it around. With the multiple cute accessories the basket comes with, the basket still offers a spacious area to add more picnic accessories in the future. I’m definitely glad we gave this item a try. It will be well loved and played with in our home.

Super fun toy, easy to clean!

What a neat toy that can help kids of many ages play together and use their imagination. The items are durable and the basket allows for the option to add other play food items to the picnic. This was able to be used outside and also inside without issue. It is easy to clean up and store away. My daughter loved it so much that she was bringing it up the stairs to take it to bed at night. A great way for kids to play together.

Compact, versatile, and durable

First, unboxing was exciting for my 3 girls. They couldn’t wait to play with this toy. All 3 of them ages 7, 5, and 18 months LOVE picnics, so this is a grand idea. The assembly was pretty simple; just attach the wheels to the basket cart. Right away the girls were pretending. The food and dinnerware are all sturdy and good quality. I couldn’t believe how much fun my 7 y/o was having playing with this set and my 18 month old really enjoys pushing the basket around! My 5 y/o played with this set for 3 hours STRAIGHT. Big win!!

The PERFECT pretend set

This picnic playset far exceeded my expectations, from the basket on wheels to take your picnic and all its supplies anywhere you want to go with everything you need to the washable picnics blanket. This set will be around for all of my children, its well built, durable, good quality pieces & the nice part is all the toy pieces are washable and easy to wipe down. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed playing with this set for hours, I watched her imagination flow putting together the pieces of a sandwich, spreading jam from the container and setting up dessert and tea. A great toy for any weather as well, you can set up a picnic indoors during inclimate or enjoy it outside. Very pleased with this toy, looking forward to seeing what Step 2 comes up with next.

My First Picnic Basket Step 2

Cute and designed to travel with goodies anywhere! Love it. My four year old loves playing and pretending.

Cute and designed to travel

My kids loved this product for themselves (5 and 3 year old boys) and loved sharing it with their cousin (2 year old girl). My younger son is autistic so I was worried about him enjoying it due to limited pretend play skills. However, he LOVED that the food can be taken apart/“cut” with the little knife on the board. He also loved stacking all the food pieces together to make the sandwich and take it apart. My older kiddo loved the pretend play aspect of a picnic. I would definitely recommend this, though I do think for the price point there should be a few more food items included. Easy to add your own additional pretend food but it would be nice to have more of the ones that are high quality like the ones provided. Still happy with it though!

So cute and fun! Could use a bit more food.

I love how the picnic basket has plenty of space for everything plus more. My 22 month old loves playing with it. The blanket isn’t thin which I liked. Everything is easy to wipe down if needed. I do wish the pear was either velcro or magnetic so it would be easier to “cut”.

Cute

This picnic set is super cute but the basket tips over onto my grandson when he is reaching in it. The picnic blanket is slippery to walk on and can cause falling

Cute but has some flaws

step2 my first picnic basket kids picnic basket playset with wheeled tan plastic basket and child-sized handle, red-and-white check water-resistant blanket and 29-piece charcuterie-inspired pretend play food set arranged on blanket including baguette sandwich, brie wedge, jam jar, pear, plates, cups, forks and knives; suitable for toddler pretend picnics and often used to encourage sharing and role-play.
