The Westinghouse WGen20000TFc Tri-Fuel portable generator with CO sensor produces up to 28,000 peak watts and 20,000 running watts and runs on gasoline, propane, or natural gas. The heavy-duty 999cc 4-stroke OHV Westinghouse V-Twin engine has a cast-iron sleeve and runs for up to 13 hours at 25% load on a 17.2-gallon gas tank, keeping you powered all day or night with a built-in fuel gauge, automatic low-oil shutdown, and GFCI outlets. Push button electric start and a remote start key fob makes starting easy. At less than 5% THD, you can safely power electronics like computers, phones and TVs. This is a huge generator  I was in total shock on delivery when they said it was 600 pounds  it's really hard for me to move around because it's so heavy it should be listed from the notes somewhere on the description. Has a 17 gallon gas tank which has another hundred pounds to this unit when the tank is full overall  this is a very nice unit and I do recommend it

The tri-fuel capability and kilowatt running power are the reasons for the purchase of this model.  Unit sits on a concrete pad outside and will be attached to a 1" natural gas supply line running 24 ft from the residence natural gas meter to unit location / manual s/o valve / flexible natural gas hose b/w shutoff valve and unit. Automatic Transfer Switch will be installed b/w residence electric panel box to connection on the unit.  TBD if it will support whole home backup emergency power, or dedicated critical circuits only backup emergency power. The structure described above is the alternative to a Standby Home Generator emergency backup system that was discovered not possible due to structural / logistical issues with the energy utility company's main natural gas line under the city street.

This generator is a beast. Surprisingly easy to move around. My driveway has a slight slope and I have no problem rolling up slight incline. As all other reviews have stated, you need a helper or some type of hoist to remove from shipping crate. I fortunately have a mobile hoist in my shop and was able to handle everything on my own. My electrician that installed transfer switch was absolutely impressed with power and mobility. 

I have a large house that is all electric with two main panels. The dual 50 amp outputs managed the load with the large 4 zone main level A/C and lower level A/C running on a hot humid day. Again, my electrician commented this generator has more power than a lot of permanent whole house systems he installs. The mobility and TriFuel options are a powerful combo.

Versitile, Mobile and Powerful Platform

This is an update to my initial review from a couple days ago.

I was able to run the generator today, I have a lockout switch on the panel to my home.  I ran the whole house with the exception of A/C and heat as I need to run it for 5 hours before using it with a heavy load.

I did not have the whole house powered on but every room in the house had something on, lights, refrigerator and standalone freezer, ceiling fans etc. 

Ran it for about 1 hour with various loads.

Easy to start and move out of the garage.

Can't wait to test it in a week or so with the A/C and the heat also.

Great Generator

After 19 days without power during a recent ice storm we purchased our Westinghouse generator. After all the connections were made it cranked easily and worked perfectly. We’ll be ready if or when the next emergency occurs.

Tri-fuel sold us

I bought this to replace smaller generator in order to run my entire 2000 sq ft home. It can run everything I need and then some. Westinghouse is a solid name and extremely pleased with my purchase. Have already recommended to friends.

Runs everything

The engineering improvements that Westinghouse has integrated to this generator are head and shoulders above the industry. As a Stone Mason in the construction industry for nearly 50 years now, I have used and been exposed to most of the portable generators on the market. each feature has been improved, from the Electric start to the automatic starting and controls, to the remote functions, to the massive capacity, even the fuel capacity, and in my case, the tri fuel capability.

Superb engineering

Bought this generator I am still under the break in period.  I have 3 hrs total an it will run for about 45 minutes and shut down but starts up after shutting down is this normal. It has plenty of oil and only use non ethanol fuel or propane.

This is a replacement for one that only had 2 hrs of the break in completed and it stopped producing power. So just getting started with this one so neutral till I see it in operation.

Review

The item came on two pallets which made it difficult to get on the ground since it weight is
400lb and I am 87 years old. There is a lot to learn reading the owner's manual. So, I have not
run it yet.  I have been buying heavy duty extension cords for the hurricane season before
there becomes scarce.
