Does it need a foundation? We recommend all Tempur-Pedic® mattresses are used with an approved Tempur-Pedic® foundation, Tempur-Pedic adjustable base or you can place your mattress on a platform frame or solid surface. Can I flip my mattress? Our mattresses are not designed to be flipped and should not be flipped. You may choose to rotate your mattress if you’d like, though it is not necessary. How long is the mattress and foundation warranty? 10-year limited warranty. For more details, please refer to the warranty card here. Should I use a mattress protector with my mattress? We do recommend using a mattress protector to protect against spills. How long will it take to get used to my new mattress? All new mattresses may take some getting used to since your body is used to different sleeping surface. We suggest you to try it for 30 nights allowing the mattress itself to ‘break in’ and your body to acclimate as well. My new mattress has a slight odor. How long will it last? TEMPUR-Material™ can have a slight odor after it is manufactured. This smell is normal and harmless, and it usually disappears before the product reaches you. If you notice this odor, know that it will dissipate in a week or two. Sometimes it’s helpful to “air out” your mattress for a couple of days. What does Home delivery consist of? Just getting used to it--it's been about a month. So far, we both love it. 2 separate twin XL mattresses. Each with our own control. Able to lay in bed and sleep in our own comfort zone. Not cheap but if it holds up and lasts as long as expected, and allows us to sleep comfortably, it will be a great purchase.

GREAT TOTAL BED SYSTEM

Tempur World, LLC

I bought the Ergo-PLUS Base and a tempur-Contour Elite mattress after a terrible car accident just over 10 years ago and at that time it was just what I needed for all of my injuries. I have had to sleep on my back since the accident. As time went on, I felt like I was in a hallow in the middle of the mattress and it was not feeling as comfortable, but I could not get it exchanged so I made the change myself to the Tempur-LuxeAdapt Soft and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!! From the very first night I slept on it I have been soo comfortable. It is soft yet it has plenty of support. Even my shoulders feel better in the morning. I am sleeping just fine. I am sooooo very happy that I made the switch! I wish they had this mattress 10 years ago!

Ditched my Tempur-Contour Elite for a Tempur-LuxeAdapt- YAY!

We've only had our Tempur-pedic two weeks but we are loving the comfort as well as the adjustable base! So fun and comfy! We were in need of some good sleep and now we've got it! So grateful!

So far we are loving it!

Here's an updated version with the delivery experience included:

I never thought I'd be this excited about a mattress, but here we are!

I started by telling ChatGPT about my sleep problems, back pain, and aches, and asked for mattress recommendations. The Tempur-Pedic LuxAdapt made my shortlist along with at least four other mattresses I wanted to try. After a lot of research, it ultimately came down to two finalists: the Saatva and the Tempur-Pedic LuxAdapt.

I spent nearly four hours testing mattresses in the store. I made sure to lie on each finalist for at least 20 minutes because I sleep in every position imaginable—on my back, side, and stomach. The LuxAdapt passed every test with flying colors. It felt incredibly comfortable in every sleeping position and was the only mattress that truly felt right no matter how I was lying.

Yes, it's expensive, but I've come to think of it as an investment in my health rather than just another purchase. A good night's sleep affects every part of your life, and at this stage, waking up without aches and pains is worth far more to me than a new pair of expensive shoes.

To top it all off, the mattress was delivered just four days after I purchased it, which exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

Incredible quality and comfort

To be honest the first 2 nights I could hardly sleep in this bed, it was so hard I thought there is no way we would be keeping it. I was in physical pain. But it has broken in and softened up quite a bit and now we are getting good sleep. I'm still not 100% sure it's the exact feel we had in the showroom, but it's getting SO much better!

3 weeks in and getting more comfortable

I am not sure if there's an adjustment period but our backs been hurting more since using it and also, you can't sit on it despite being "firm." You will sink and have to counterbalance to even stay upright lending to more back pain. My Daughters play mat that's on the floor feels more comfortable than the bed. The smell also took 7-10 days to dissipate with 3 fans blowing at it and 2 air filters

Can't sit in it

tempurpedic.com

We have been sleeping on this mattress almost 4 weeks and both my husband and I are considering a return when eligible. For the high price we expected this to be a lot more comfortable. We went with the medium firmness and all we do all night is toss and turn and wake up stiff. Not so special.

Quality mattress but not as comfortable as we expected

We've had this for two weeks now. I bought with the expectation that it would help my shoulder pain when sleeping since I have a labrum tear. Since sleeping on this, my shoulder pain has gotten worse and I've now developed low back pain. For the record I'm 5 foot 10 and 178 pounds, so weight is not an issue. Hoping it gets better as I break it in, but we'll see.

Worse pain since buying.

If you enjoy lower back pain most days when you awaken, this is the bed for you. Your hips sink lower than your spine. I first tried a medium hybrid and returned it for this. It was so firm it was actually funny to me how a bed like that could be made.. If I could take this bed outside and burn it, I would.

I love not having to sleep on this bed

After six months of trying to make the TEMPUR-LuxeAdapt Soft work, we have finally given up and purchased a different mattress.

The biggest problem people should know about is how dramatically room temperature affects this mattress. We found that we had to keep our bedroom at a warmer temperature in the evening just to get the foam soft enough that getting into bed wasn't uncomfortable. Once warm, the mattress becomes softer and conforming.

Unfortunately, that creates another problem: this mattress sleeps hot. We have a TEMPUR-Pedic smart base/bed system, and it consistently indicated that our bedroom was too warm. It wasn't until we reduced the overnight temperature to about 64°F that the system stopped complaining about the room temperature. We also found that 64°F was about where we stopped waking up uncomfortably hot during the night.

But at that temperature, the mattress gradually becomes extremely firm again.

So our nightly routine essentially became: keep the room warm enough before bedtime to make the mattress soft and conforming, then cool the room substantially so we don't overheat while sleeping. The mattress initially softens and allows my body to sink into it—too much in my case, which leaves my spine poorly aligned—and then, as the room cools overnight, the foam becomes increasingly hard while my body is already settled into that position.

By morning, the mattress feels rock-like and my back is miserable.

I have significant pre-existing back issues, so I certainly don't expect any mattress to cure my back. What I do expect is for a mattress not to make it substantially worse. With this mattress, I routinely wake with severe upper-back, neck and shoulder pain. It can take until 1–3 PM for my back to recover, despite extensive stretching, walking and using a heating pad. My lower back also suffers, despite trying every single adjustment conceivable (including using the lumbar support).

I absolutely cannot recommend this bed for anyone who has any back issues, or if you live somewhere that is even slightly warm, or if you live anywhere that is even slightly cold.

Before purchasing the LuxeAdapt Soft, we had the Medium Hybrid from the same TEMPUR-Pedic line. It had the same rock-like quality, only substantially worse. I actually preferred sleeping on our couch while we waited for the exchange.

After six months, the only positive thing I can say about the LuxeAdapt Soft is that when the bedroom is warm enough, the mattress does initially feel pleasantly soft when you lie down. Unfortunately, for us, that softness doesn't solve the support problem, and it doesn't remain consistent once the room is cooled to a comfortable sleeping temperature.

I wish I had understood before purchasing just how temperature-dependent TEMPUR material is in actual overnight use. A mattress whose feel changes this substantially depending on whether the bedroom is warm or cool simply does not work for us.
