Excellent Bang for Your Buck

I've never used a pellet smoker before, but I can't imagine spending twice this and getting better performance. It holds the temperature perfectly. It was pretty straightforward putting it together. There were a couple of steps that required two people. My only minor gripe is the smoke box. If you use wood chips they'll start smoking well at low temps but they're hard to get in the smoke box. On the other hand if you use wood chunks they don't really smoke well at low temps. I noticed that smaller chunks ignited a lot better than bigger chunks, so next time I might break some of the big chunks into smaller pieces and see how that works. Also just a note, I noticed a lot of photos on here show it without the bottom shelf and smaller caster wheels. In case anyone is wondering the newer version includes both of these.

I have owned this grill for less than a year and it is broken (normally this wouldn't be an issue if customer service would send me the replacement parts). the grill is reading a tempature that is about 300 degrees farinheit below it's actual temperature causing it to continue to heat well beyond the acceptable temperature tolerance. very disappointed in members mark this time l.

I love this pellet smoker. I have had it for a year and it has been awesome. The smoker box helps add flavor. I use small chips and a torch to help light the box, as others have mentioned it is hard to get the box smoking at low temps. For 500 it was an awesome alternative to the expensive camp chef. I hope it goes on sale soon, 700 is too much.

Great grill for a great price!

So far this has been a fantastic grill. It was easy to assemble, and I was able to do it by myself. The smoke box works great adding functionality that I have been wanting. This must be a revised version because it came with 4 wheels and a shelf. I have an 11-year-old Camp Chef 24" pellet grill, and wanted a bigger size. It is a lot less expensive than the larger Camp Chef. The Member's Mark holds temperatures better than the Camp Chef resulting in more efficient pellet consumption. It is a little harder to clean out than the Camp Chef when it comes to emptying the fire pot. I do like that I can get underneath the fire pot compared to the Camp Chef. The grill grates are way thicker on the Member's Mark measuring 3/8" thick according to my calipers. The Members Mark 100% satisfaction guarantee gave me peace of mind taking a shot with this grill!

Great product

Great value, large size. Just make sure clean up the ash buildup after cooking. Wish it can set to lower temperature like 175 F. 200 is too hot for beef jerky.

Great Smoker

It's my first smoker and I really like it! Keeps temps with only a few degrees difference of the set temp, even with the current AZ 110°+. Worth every penny.

Smoke Box Limitations

If you're buying this as a poor man's Camp Chef Woodwind Pro understand the limitations. The smoker box was seemingly designed as an after thought as it requires a minimum 275 F (really more in my experience) to maintain the passive smoke coming from the box. For those of you wanting to cook under 250F, you won't get any smoke. I tried all sorts of things: wood chunks, wood bits, a hand torch, pre-lit wood, hot charcoal, leaving the door open/close but nothing would maintain the smoke box under 275. It would extinguish pretty soon after I closed the door. Also note that the minimum temp of 200F on the auger is really closer to 220-225 based on my readings at the grill level and even hotter at the warmer level (about 10-15F more). The construction of this is excellent with the double walled lid and sides, the coating is durable, wheels are high quality, legs are sturdy, etc. The weak link in the construction might be the induction side stove as it "feels" cheap but I never bothered to use it. Note that the pellet portion is powered THROUGH the induction portion so just keep that in mind. Keep the induction dry and protected to prolong its life.

You will not be disappointed!

I received this grill as promised and on time. This grill is very well made! Way heavier duty than my Traeger and is also double insulated. Because it is so well made, I highly suggest having two people put it together because of the weight of it. I love that it has normal paper instructions and a scannable code for electronic instructions. The parts come in separate boxes that are labeled with exactly what is in it and hardware comes in separate bags that go with each part you are putting on. So no searching for the right parts, they make it super easy. I did the break in on it and the next day, I did a whole chicken for a first cook. I was amazed how it held the temperature so well! I set it at 225 and even with having some wood chunks in the wood box, it never went above 227 degrees and mainly held right at 225. I will be trying wood chips instead of wood chunks as it did have trouble lighting the chunks. I had to give it a little help with a propane lighter, then all was good. So far, very impressed with this grill! For the price and the and how it is built, you can't go wrong!

Best value of any pellet grill on the market, IMO.

I wanted to wait until I had used this cooker 6-7 times before reviewing. This will be a long review. First off, assembly: Putting this together was easy but it still takes at least 2 hours. All parts very well packaged. Seasoning the grill: Do not make the mistake of completely filling the smoker box with wood when seasoning. I was excited like a kid on Christmas so I put too much wood in and then running it at 400° + caused an issue with smoke coming up out of the pellet box instead of flowing into the cooking chamber. Has NEVER happened again since I cut back a little on the wood at startup. I found a thread on this cooker on Reddit that explained the issue, but it's never happened again after realizing it was user (my) error. Cooking review: This thing produces excellent ribs, chicken, beef, you name it. Temp is steady and everything works as advertised. I've been smoking meat for 20 years, usually wood/charcoal, but I got so tired of having to constantly babysit my offset or my PBC cooker, so this pellet grill was a welcome change. The wood box feature is a GAME CHANGER! Both my neighbor buddies have "other expensive brand" pellet grills, and although they cook well, they never have the flavor you get from a stick burner. Now I can achieve that with this 36" MM pellet grill. Pro tip: Besides adding small chunks of wood to the smoker box, add a few charcoal briquettes here and there, too. Helps keep the wood burning. Great smoke flavor, constant steady temps! My last cook was an 8# pork shoulder that I cooked overnight. Was my first overnight cook that didn't require getting up at 2 am and again at 5, to stoke the fire basket. Best pork shoulder I've ever made. Started at 11 pm, pulled at noon, rested in Cambro until 4:00, then pulled and ate. 10 out of 10! Smoke box tip: Make sure you have a small chunk of wood in the box when you START the cook, because the controller is designed to give a little extra boost of fire at the beginning. As you add wood later, make sure it's pushed all the way to the back of the box, so it's closest to the fire. Lastly, if you have a small propane torch, that is very helpful for getting wood chunks burning in the middle of the cook. * * * Induction burner note: Like someone else mentioned in their review, I too thought there was a problem with my burner. There was not. The burner is very sensitive to proper contact between surface of burner and the bottom of pan. Make sure your cooking vessel is properly centered on the burner and made of a conductive material. For instance, aluminum pans do not work on induction cooktops. Support: I contacted the company that produces this for Sam's, and someone emailed me back within 12 hours to answer my question! Admittedly, I only reached out kind of as a test, to see if my inquiry would be ignored, or answered by someone 3 continents away. Got a reply back from someone in Texas that told me any replacement parts needed would ship from a U.S. warehouse. Bonus! Summary: I am 100% satisfied with this purchase. The only aspect I can't review right now would be longevity. However, based on quality of build, I'm confident I'll get many years out of this. Chef recommends! Overall I give it 4.7 out of 5 stars. Temp range needs to start around 160 to 180° - for cold smoking, and temp controller should offer 25° increments across the entire range, not just at the lower temps. Other than that, this is a winner.
